Scallop is an animal
species
Although it does not seem like it, the scallop is
an animal. They belong to molluscs, including snails, sea slugs, octopus,
squid, clams, mussels and oysters.
2.
Scallops are bivalves
The molluscs belong to the group of mollusks with
two shells. These animals have two casings made of calcium carbonate bonded
hinged. Two-pronged scorpion animals are threatened by ocean acidification,
which has the potential to cause the body to produce a hard shell.
3.
Scents can swim
You almost have to see to
believe this. Unlike other tortoises like mussels and clams, most scallops can
swim freely. They swim by fastening the two shells, moving the jets through the
hinge shell, pushing the scalloped front. Scents are very swift when swimming.
4.
The scallop shell is easy
to identify
When you think of the term "shellfish",
the scallop shell may appear in mind. The fan-shaped shell is shaped like a
fan, usually with peaks and ribs. At the bottom of the shell, there are two "ears".
Scallop shell is a symbol
of St. Mary's. James, was a fisherman in Galileo before becoming an apostle. It
is said that he was buried in Santiago de Compostela in Spain, which became a
pilgrimage and worship site. The shell also marks the way to Santiago and
pilgrims wear or carry scalloped shells.
